English Intervention Lead
About This Role
This is an exciting short-term opportunity to make a tangible difference to students’ outcomes, confidence and future opportunities. The programme will support students 1:1 in pairs or small groups to secure at least grade 5, help students working at grades 5-6 progress towards higher grades, and stretch high-attaining students towards grades 7-9.
The successful candidate will combine excellent subject knowledge and teaching expertise with the ability to motivate young people, identify barriers to progress and deliver carefully targeted support.
The role will suit either an experienced English teacher, an AQA GCSE English examiner, or a specialist tutor with a strong track record of working effectively with individuals and small groups. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable but not essential; demonstrable expertise in teaching and assessing GCSE English is key.
This is a hands-on role. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, and delivering much of the programme and working collaboratively with English leaders and an existing, highly effective English tutor.
