DP PSYCHOLOGY TEACHER - SNA IB HCMC - SY 2026-2027
About This Role
SNA-HCMC is on the lookout for a dedicated Psychology & English Language & Literature Teacher to commence in AUGUST 2026. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience within the MYP/DP framework. Active participation in Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) is also expected as we continue to expand our CCA offerings.

Key Responsibilities
- Teaching a curriculum split evenly between 50% DP Psychology and 50% MYP/DP English Language & Literature.
- Understanding and adhering to SNA school policies, practices, and procedures.
- Engaging in professional interactions with students, parents, colleagues, and others.
- Promoting and implementing IB teaching and learning strategies (ATL’s) in everyday instruction.
- Embodying the qualities of the IB learner profile.
- Supporting students during the MYP/DP exhibition as required.
- Collaborating in grade-level, cross-curricular, and inter-program meetings to enhance the curriculum.
- Committing to ongoing personal and professional development.
- Communicating regularly with department colleagues regarding planning, assessment, parent involvement, subject organization, and classroom management.
- Collaborating with staff to enhance social and emotional awareness.
- Actively participating in behavioral management and pastoral care for homeroom and other class groups.
- Contributing positively to staff meetings.
- Supervising student breaks as needed.
- Coordinating class activities as necessary.
- Maintaining up-to-date records of assessments, attendance, planning, reports, and parent communications through ManageBac and Classdojo/Seesaw.
- Establishing connections with the parent community to keep them informed about their children's progress.
- Serving as a resource for new staff concerning curriculum, schedules, and procedures.
- Participating in and supporting school events as needed, and completing additional tasks assigned by the DP Coordinator.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or English, along with a recognized teaching certificate; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in an IB/international school environment.
- A thorough understanding of the IB MYP/DP frameworks and inquiry-based learning approaches.
- Proven ability to create and implement engaging, differentiated lessons for diverse learners.
- Strong skills in classroom management and student supervision.
- Proficiency in incorporating technology and digital resources into lesson planning.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational capabilities.
- A creative, collaborative, and proactive approach to enriching school life and CCAs.
- A strong commitment to child safeguarding, with the ability to provide valid background checks.
- A willingness to engage in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and student activities.
