About This Role
The British School of Beijing, Shunyi is a distinguished international institution in China, celebrated for its dynamic and inclusive educational atmosphere. We are looking for an enthusiastic Director of Physical Education to head our Whole School Health and Physical Education Department. This leadership role will be responsible for overseeing the PE curriculum across all grade levels, with a special focus on the IB DP framework at the High/Secondary School level. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting physical health, wellbeing, and active lifestyles within our diverse student body.
Skills and Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field (minimum requirement)
- At least 2 years of experience in teaching or leading PE programs, preferably in an IB DP context
- Comprehensive knowledge of Health and Physical Education curriculum development and assessment
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams or departments
- Strong communication abilities to effectively connect with students, staff, parents, and external stakeholders
- Capability to design innovative programs that encourage participation and lifelong fitness habits
