Are you a passionate, dynamic, and visionary sports educator ready to lead a thriving department? The Cottesloe School is seeking an inspiring Head of PE to take the helm and lead our highly experienced, dedicated team of PE teachers.

This is a very exciting time to become part of our journey! You will be stepping into a role with incredible sporting facilities at your fingertips. The crown jewel of the department is our brand-new, state-of-the-art £1 million 3G pitch (launched October 2025). This premier facility is a hub of sporting excellence, not only enjoyed by our students but also trusted by a wide range of community groups and the MK Dons!

The Cottesloe School is a rapidly growing, oversubscribed 11-19 secondary school, fresh from a £3 million expansion. The stage is perfectly set, the resources are elite, and the team is ready. If you have the drive to maximise these outstanding facilities and take our sporting achievements to the next level, we want to hear from you!

We're looking for someone who:

  • Puts children and young people at the heart of all actions.
  • Is a passionate subject expert in PE and Sport, able to inspire and enthuse students with varying needs.
  • Is a dedicated practitioner committed to school improvement and raising standards for all students.
  • Is a confident and dynamic leader who contributes enthusiastically to the school's culture, demonstrating and expecting the highest standards.
  • Is a personable and passionate communicator with high expectations.
  • Is committed to continuous professional development, adapting to change and embracing new ideas to contribute to high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Has a strong understanding of the PE curriculum, including assessment and monitoring procedures.
  • Has in-depth knowledge and expertise in delivering or leading the specified PE courses: GCSE PE (OCR), Sport Studies (Cambridge Nationals), BTEC Sport (BTEC National Certificate).

In return, we offer:

  • The opportunity to work in a brilliant and constantly improving school that prioritises the wellbeing of both staff and students.
  • Excellent career development opportunities within a culture of trust, where all contributions are recognised and respected.
  • The chance to teach courteous students who are engaged and eager to learn, demonstrating a high degree of respect for others.
  • A friendly and supportive working atmosphere with a skilled senior leadership team committed to mutual support and challenge.
  • The freedom to teach creative lessons in a school with a proven track record for professional development.
  • The opportunity to participate in or organise enriching curriculum-linked school trips.
  • A strong commitment to work-life balance.
