THE ROLE
We are in search of an outstanding and experienced school leader to provide direction and inspiration as part of the Secondary Senior Leadership Team. In this crucial role, you will play a significant part in the school’s operations and help shape its academic trajectory. As the Assistant Headteacher, you will oversee Pastoral Care within the Secondary School. Working alongside other Assistant Headteachers (Teaching, Learning & Assessment; Head of Sixth Form; Student Enrichment and Experience) and the Head of Secondary, you will comprise the Secondary School Leadership Team (SSLT). Typical responsibilities for an Assistant Head include:
- Leading initiatives focused on pastoral care and professional growth related to student welfare and development.
- Supervising the management of Year Leaders and the school counselor.
- Overseeing various operational aspects such as cover, duties, pastoral handbooks, behavior policies, attendance, House points, and student leadership initiatives.
- Contributing to shared SSLT responsibilities and strategic planning (including recruitment, induction, and development planning).
Candidates are encouraged to highlight relevant experiences and express any specific interests.
A teaching commitment will be expected, to be determined once the timetable is finalized. Please indicate which subject(s) you are qualified to teach and at what level.
- Experience in a Middle and/or Senior Leadership role.
- A degree in your area of specialization.

The Successful Candidate will possess:
- A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, HDipEd, or equivalent).
- A current Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure for all countries of residence.
- Compliance with visa regulations for employment.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students, alongside a willingness to engage in relevant child protection training as required.
