About This Role

Key Responsibilities encompass: Upholding and promoting the ethos and standards of excellence outlined in the GEMS Core Values. Delivering the prescribed curriculum with a thorough and current understanding of both curriculum content and subject matter. Designing and implementing engaging lessons that inspire students. Developing and utilizing suitable materials and classroom settings to accommodate various learning styles. Providing written documentation of planning and preparation upon request. Maintaining comprehensive records of curriculum and yearly plans, attendance, instructional resources, assessment strategies, and more. Ensuring adherence to GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct at all times. Instructing students based on their individual needs through tailored teaching methods that address diverse student requirements, including late entrants, ESL learners, those with lower academic abilities, and gifted students. Setting and grading assignments. Evaluating, documenting, and reporting on students' academic progress, development, and achievements, utilizing assessments to align the curriculum with each student's needs. Demonstrating proficiency in the use of media and technology within the classroom. Supporting the overall progress and well-being of students while advising them on educational topics. Engaging with external parties when necessary (such as officials from the Ministry of Education). Taking part in appraisal and Performance Management processes, as well as Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Collaborating with colleagues to prepare and develop teaching materials, resources, curricula, and pastoral care arrangements. Participating in, and leading when appropriate, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities within the school. Fostering positive working relationships through proactive leadership and sharing of ideas, resources, and experiences. Overseeing and guiding appropriate and safe student behavior. Developing and implementing strategies to promote self-discipline and manage disruptive behavior. Modeling and fostering cultural awareness and understanding while instilling a passion for learning. Aiding in the organization and planning of school events and functions (such as inter-house competitions, concerts, school plays, prize days, etc.). Regularly communicating with parents, promoting the GEMS philosophy and core values, and keeping them informed about students' progress while maintaining the confidentiality of student-related information. Demonstrating initiative and a strong work ethic beyond the standard workday when tasks demand additional commitment. Attending staff meetings and participating in committees as needed. Executing other responsibilities as assigned by direct and dotted line managers/supervisors.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
