Located in the heart of Phuket Island, HeadStart achieved ‘International School’ status in 2010 and is fully accredited by The Education Development Trust. In our latest inspection, we received the International Schools Quality Mark (ISQM), with the accreditors recognizing HeadStart as a ‘Good School with Outstanding Features.’
Our curriculum is aligned with the national curriculum of England, offering Cambridge and Pearson qualifications at the secondary level, including IGCSEs, A Levels, and BTECs.
The main campus at Chaofah serves 1000 students and is oversubscribed in several year groups. Starting in August 2028, we will enhance our Upper School site and offerings to establish 'HeadStart College' as the leading educational institution in Southern Thailand.
In August 2023, we inaugurated a new campus in the northern part of the island, Cherngtalay. Initially a one-form Foundation and Primary school, our Cherngtalay Campus has grown into a three-form entry Foundation, Primary, and Secondary School (KS3 only), accommodating up to 500 students.
Science Teacher
As we expand our Upper School site and programs for Sixth Form and Key Stage 4, we seek to hire a dynamic and enthusiastic Science Teacher to commence in August 2026. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching across the secondary age spectrum. The successful individual will focus on their subject specialization at IGCSE and teach Key Stage 3 Science (Years 7–9), delivering a shared KS3 curriculum that encompasses Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Candidates should have experience across the secondary age range and a flair for inspiring students in the subject. Familiarity with the Cambridge IGCSE syllabus would be advantageous.
We are in search of a highly dedicated team player who brings energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for teaching, capable of instilling a love for learning in students. A good sense of humor and a strong work ethic are essential attributes.
Requirements / Application Details
Essential Requirements:
- Solid knowledge of the UK-based curriculum and experience teaching students across all phases
- Strong understanding of the assessment criteria for KS3 and IGCSE Science
- Proven teaching record
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university
- A recognized teaching qualification: BEd., PGCE, iPGCE, or equivalent
- Must be a fluent English speaker
Desirable Requirements (not essential):
- Previous experience in an International School setting
- Experience working with learners who have English as an Additional Language.
