Psychology KS5 (Alevel) with Maths KS3 Teacher Needed for September 2026

We will conduct interviews as soon as possible and encourage early applications.

British School Alzira/Xativa/Gandia is part of a network of British schools located in the Valencia region of Spain, dedicated to providing a high-quality British education to students from various nationalities.

British School Alzira is seeking a Teacher for Psychology KS5 (Alevel) and some Maths at KS3, starting in September 2026.

Our three outstanding schools are co-educational and follow the British National Curriculum.

We welcome applications from both seasoned educators and newly qualified teachers, as well as teaching couples.

To be eligible for employment at our school, applicants must possess the right to work in Spain. Typically, candidates are either current residents of Spain or hold an EU passport, including that of Ireland.

We require the following qualifications:

• A passion for teaching and high expectations for all students.

• A solid understanding of the curriculum, with the ability to engage students through dynamic lesson delivery.

• A B.Ed., P.G.C.E, or an equivalent qualification.

• Native-level English proficiency (Spanish language skills are not necessary for our teachers).

In return, we offer a nurturing and successful school environment characterized by small class sizes, enthusiastic students eager to learn, excellent behavior standards, and supportive parents.

OUR SCHOOLS

Teachers at our institutions collaborate to deliver an exceptional standard of British education, equipping students for further education at universities in the UK, Spain, and beyond.

British School Alzira is an independent, co-educational institution nestled in a picturesque mountain setting, just 40km south of Valencia, Spain. We provide easy access to the Mediterranean coast and the vibrant city of Valencia, ensuring an unparalleled educational experience.

British School Xativa, which opened its doors in September 2009, boasts extensive grounds located beneath the historic Xativa castle, offering a modern and spacious learning environment.

British School Gandia, inaugurated in September 2015, currently caters to students from Pre-Nursery to Year 11. Located in the coastal resort of Gandia, the school is expanding rapidly and will introduce KS5 in the 2026-2027 academic year.

All our schools feature on-site facilities such as a library, tennis courts, swimming pools, an ICT suite, a ballet room, an indoor PE area, shaded outdoor play areas, science laboratories, a well-equipped art department, and generously sized classrooms.

Teachers collaborate across the three schools to ensure a consistent learning experience for our students.

OUR GREATEST ASSET – OUR STAFF

All teachers receive a full-time permanent contract from the first day of employment in our schools.

We maintain our own internal pay structure, which offers salaries significantly above the national average for teachers in Spain. Additionally, we provide an incremental salary system that rewards teachers who remain with us with annual salary increases. For more information about our salary system, please refer to the ‘Welcome Pack’.

Teacher benefits include free education for children, an annual flight allowance, work-based private health insurance, and preferential rates at several local businesses, including opticians and dentists.

We also assist teaching staff with all aspects of relocation. This includes a pastoral care administrator who helps register our teachers within the Spanish social security and health systems, as well as providing support in finding accommodation and addressing any other relocation needs.
