About This Role

POSITION: SCHOOL COUNSELLOR

Highgate International School Thailand is set to launch in August 2026. This prestigious international institution, located in the scenic province of Chonburi, will serve students aged 2 to 18.

In collaboration with Siam Motors Group and Highgate School in London, our staff will have access to a variety of state-of-the-art facilities, including a full-sized FIFA-approved football pitch, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a 450-seat auditorium, a black-box theatre, a dedicated STEM building, and a Library and Digital Media Centre. They will benefit from a rich academic legacy that spans 460 years.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


The School Counsellor will:


Offer a comprehensive range of customized counselling services for students, groups of students, and the families associated with Pre-Prep and Junior School classes.


Design, execute, and evaluate both preventative and responsive programs related to the health and well-being of the student body.


Encourage curiosity, rigor, engagement, enthusiasm, community spirit, and kindness among students.


Establish a strong network of supportive relationships with external service providers.


Serve as a key member of the school's safeguarding team.


Maintain, oversee, and review confidential records.


Operate in accordance with school policies and in alignment with the broader interests of the institution.


Make a positive contribution to a school culture that emphasizes the importance of high expectations.


Effectively communicate with members of the broader school community.


Participate in regular meetings and assist in ensuring the safe operation of the school campus.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

The School Counsellor will:


Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in counselling, psychology, social work, or a closely related discipline.


Have at least three years of post-qualification experience working with children, preferably in an educational environment.


Exhibit a deep understanding of childhood development.


Have experience supporting the growth of young people who speak English as an additional language.
