About This Role

Socrates Educa International School, situated in Salou to the south of Barcelona, has the capacity to accommodate up to 800 students. This inclusive institution provides a comprehensive education for learners aged 1 to 18+. As the inaugural school operating under the Socrates Educa model, it showcases an innovative educational approach that is expected to be adopted by future schools.

Our vibrant trilingual school, offering instruction in English, Spanish, and Catalan, provides education from Pre-school through to Secondary, along with National and International Baccalaureate (IB) programs and the US High School Dual Diploma. With a strong international focus, students also have the opportunity to study Chinese as a foreign language. Our curriculum aligns with local guidelines while benefiting from the influence of educators from diverse backgrounds, with English as the primary medium of instruction.

We are seeking a Secondary teacher experienced in both national and International Baccalaureate curricula for the upcoming academic year, commencing in September 2026.

Ideal candidates will be collaborative team members, innovative and creative educators who can differentiate instruction in the classroom, ignite a passion for the humanities, and thrive in a multilingual setting. International teaching experience is a must, while familiarity with the IB framework is highly desirable. Tutoring responsibilities will also be part of the role. Knowledge of the Catalan and/or Spanish curriculum is advantageous.

Key requirements for all applicants:

- Proficient in English, capable of conducting lessons entirely in authentic English.
- A teacher specializing in TOK, Philosophy, Social Science, Geography, History, or Global Politics, who is passionate about their subject and can engage students across all ability levels. IB experience and the ability to teach an additional subject are preferred.
- Strong ICT proficiency (comfortable with Mac/iPad, familiar with educational applications).

Qualifications


- Bachelor of Education / PGCE / Secondary QTS (BEd / SCITT / School Direct / Teach First) or equivalent.

Preferred:

- Secondary teaching experience in IB and Bachillerato / ESO for ages 12-18.
- IB trained and experienced, or willing to undertake training.

Valuable assets:

- Experience with UCAS / D of E.
- Familiarity with Spanish ESO / Bachillerato curriculum.
- Knowledge of Spanish and Catalan.
