About This Role
Runnymede College, a private non-denominational British institution located in Madrid, provides a British education to boys and girls of diverse nationalities from ages two to eighteen, adhering to the British National Curriculum.
Established in September 1967, Runnymede College opened its primary school in 1987 and has been situated in La Moraleja, in northern Madrid, since 1990. The school is organized into three sections: Pre-Prep (Pre Nursery to Year 3), Prep (Years 4 to 8), and Senior School (Years 9 to 13).
Runnymede College boasts impressive academic standards. In June 2025, 57% of our students received A-A* grades at A level, surpassing the 48% A*-A grades reported by independent schools in England this year. Furthermore, 67% of our students achieved A*-A grades at IGCSE, which is notably higher than the 48% A*-A grades at GCSE in the English independent school sector.
In the graduating class of 2025, 83% of students planning to attend universities in the UK will enroll in institutions ranked in the Top 10 according to the Sunday Times Good University Guide. Graduates from this year are heading to prestigious UK universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, UCL, and LSE. Students pursuing higher education in the US have begun their studies at Harvard, Columbia, UPenn, and Brown, among other distinguished colleges.
Some of our students will remain in Spain, enrolling in top institutions like ICADE, IE, and ICAI, while others will pursue their education in leading European universities in France and Ireland.

We are currently seeking a Pre-Prep School Teacher to join our team in September 2026.
Skills and Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from a British university
- PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
- Recent teaching experience in a UK school
- Familiarity with the British National Curriculum
- Understanding of Phonics and Early Reading instruction
- Knowledge of early Mathematics with a mastery approach
- Strong teamwork abilities and a willingness to collaborate on planning and resources
- Capability to adapt learning strategies to meet individual student needs
- High expectations for student effort and behavior, coupled with effective classroom management skills
- Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize to meet deadlines
- Applicants must possess a native level of spoken and written English
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in an international school is desirable but not essential
- Proficiency in utilizing technology effectively in teaching and learning
