About This Role

SNA-HCMC is seeking a knowledgeable MYP/DP English Language & Literature Teacher to start in AUGUST 2026. Applicants should possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching in the MYP program. Participation in Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) will be required as we enhance our CCA offerings.

It is important for candidates to know that SNA-HCMC is a CIS member and fully accredited by WASC, prioritizing safeguarding and child protection during our recruitment process. Compliance with the UN Convention on the Rights of The Child is a fundamental principle at our school. Candidates MUST be prepared to provide appropriate background checks; if these are not already obtained, we strongly recommend utilizing the ISS-Schroles 'verify' service, as applications will not be processed without these documents.

Key Responsibilities:
• Understand and adhere to the policies, practices, and procedures of SNA.
• Engage in professional and effective communication with students, parents, colleagues, and stakeholders.
• Advocate for and incorporate IB teaching and learning approaches (ATL’s) in daily instruction.
• Exemplify the attributes of the IB learner profile.
• Maintain a positive demeanor, foster a growth mindset, and demonstrate strong emotional intelligence (EQ).
• Assist students with the MYP/DP exhibition when relevant.
• Participate in collaborative meetings for grade level, cross-curricular, and cross-program curriculum development.
• Commit to ongoing personal and professional growth.
• Regularly communicate with department members regarding planning, assessments, parent engagement, subject organization, and classroom management.
• Collaborate with other staff to enhance social and emotional awareness within the school community.
• Actively engage in the pastoral care and behavioral management of homeroom and other classes.
• Attend and contribute positively to staff meetings.
• Supervise student breaks as needed.
• Organize class activities as required.
• Keep accurate records of assessments, attendance, planning, reports, and parent communications via ManageBac and Classdojo/Seesaw.
• Connect with the parent community to keep them informed about student learning, encouraging participation in initiatives such as Parents as Learner (PAL) meetings, Student Lead Conferences (SLCs), grade exhibitions, and the PTA.
• Support new staff by acting as a resource for curriculum, schedules, and procedures.
• Participate in and assist with school events, fulfilling additional tasks as assigned by the MYP Coordinator.

Qualifications and Requirements:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Technology Design along with a recognized teaching certificate; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in IB/international school environments.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the IB MYP/DP frameworks and inquiry-based learning methodologies.
• Proven capability in creating and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons for a diverse student body.
• Strong skills in classroom management and student oversight.
• Proficient in integrating technology and digital resources into instructional practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
• Creative, collaborative, and proactive contributions to school life and CCAs.
• A commitment to child safeguarding, with the ability to provide valid background checks.
• A willingness to engage in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and student activities.
