THE ACADEMY
GEMS World Academy–Dubai (GWA) is a private, co-educational IB World School serving students from PreK through Grade 12. Established in 2008, it operates under the GEMS Education umbrella and is authorized to deliver the PYP, MYP, DP, and CP programmes. GWA holds accreditation from both the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

THE ROLE
The Business department at GEMS World Academy has significantly transformed student outcomes and cultivated a passion for learning. This success is driven by the staff's dedication, their exceptional subject expertise, and a proactive approach to curriculum and data. The department is well-respected among students for the personalized care and support it provides.
We are inviting expressions of interest from enthusiastic BTEC Business educators who feel their skills, experience, and values resonate with GEMS World Academy’s mission to inspire a love of learning, with roles commencing in August 2026.
SKILLS
The ideal applicant will boast a strong history of effective teaching and fostering student success. While experience with the IB Middle Years and Diploma Programmes is advantageous, we encourage outstanding educators from any curriculum background to apply. A commitment to the IB philosophy and alignment with the Learner Profile values are essential. A genuine enthusiasm for working within a non-selective, culturally diverse community is also a critical requirement. Additionally, candidates should have:
•
A Bachelor of Education degree, or an initial degree coupled with a relevant teaching qualification such as a PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent specialization in Business
•
Advanced qualifications are favorable but not mandatory
•
At least 3 years of experience teaching Secondary Business, preferably in an IB curriculum school, though this is not a strict requirement
•
Demonstrated experience in teaching BTEC Business
•
A solid understanding of the IB MYP & DP framework and Approaches to Teaching is preferred
•
A strong commitment to continuously enhancing their teaching practice and providing exceptional learning experiences for students
•
The experience, personality, and educational philosophy that aligns with the standards of a leading IB World School like GEMS World Academy
•
Availability from August 2026
