About This Role

Aldar Education is currently in search of an exceptional Teacher of English for the Middle and Senior School at Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi, with an immediate start date.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for delivering inspiring lessons that motivate students to strive for their best possible achievements.

Your roles will include:

- Collaboration and teamwork
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- Building positive relationships with all members of the school community
- Collaborating with fellow educators to create engaging lessons aligned with the curriculum
- Professional communication with colleagues while demonstrating flexibility
- Partnering with parents to ensure student happiness and optimal academic success
- Cooperating with curriculum support staff (when applicable) to enhance student development
- Serving as a form tutor and addressing the pastoral needs of students.

A. Teaching and Learning

- Possessing a clear understanding of the British curriculum
- Organizing classroom resources and creating displays to foster a positive and engaging learning atmosphere
- Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons tailored to accommodate a range of abilities within the class
- Inspiring students through enthusiastic and imaginative teaching
- Observing and assessing students in accordance with the school's assessment policy
- Reflecting on classroom provisions and lessons taught, making adjustments to the environment, planning, and curriculum as needed
- Ensuring that the language and attitudes of the Mamoura British Academy Teacher and Learner DNA are integrated throughout the curriculum.

B. Assessment and Data

- Taking ownership of the academic progress of your classes
- Meeting the requirements for assessing and recording students' development using the school's designated assessment system
- Utilizing assessment data to inform future planning, provision, and interventions
- Providing feedback to parents and guardians regarding student progress during Parent-Teacher Conferences and other meetings.

C. Behaviour Management and Duties

- Adhering to the school's Behaviour Policy
- Effectively managing classes using approaches suited to students' needs to inspire, motivate, and challenge them
- Maintaining excellent relationships with students, exercising appropriate authority, and acting decisively when necessary within the framework of the school's Behaviour Policy
- Being a positive role model and consistently demonstrating the attitudes, values, and behaviors expected of students
- Upholding high expectations for behavior, promoting self-control and independence among all learners
- Ensuring that the Mamoura Values DNA language and attitudes are reflected throughout the curriculum
- Performing duties as assigned within the school's policies.

D. Wider Professional Responsibilities

- Collaborating as part of a departmental team, contributing to planning, assessment, resources, and special events related to that team
- Supporting and participating in school events, outings, and activities that may occur during weekends or evenings
- Effectively communicating with parents/caregivers regarding students' achievements and well-being through school systems/processes like CPOMS as appropriate
- Contributing positively to the broader life and ethos of the school
- Leading a weekly ECA each term.

Minimum Qualifications:

- A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related subject with a PGCE or equivalent.

Minimum Experience:

- At least 2 years of teaching experience in the English National Curriculum.

Job-Specific Knowledge & Skills:

- Outstanding teaching abilities
- Experience teaching across the full age and ability spectrum with proven success
- Experience in multiple International Schools is desirable
- Familiarity with the UK National Curriculum
- Strong interpersonal skills

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
