About This Role

Teacher of Design and Technology
Full time and permanent
Start date September 2026

We are looking to hire an enthusiastic, dynamic, and ambitious teacher of Design & Technology to become a part of our well-established and successful Applied Learning and Technology Faculty. This position would be ideal for an experienced educator dedicated to delivering the highest standards of teaching and capable of inspiring our students to reach their full potential.

Within the Applied Learning and Technology Faculty, we offer an exceptional KS3 curriculum and currently provide OCR Child Development and WJEC Hospitality and Catering at KS4. Both subjects are very popular and consistently achieve outstanding results. The faculty is composed of experienced and supportive specialists, and we are fortunate to have regular student teachers from Worcester University and other providers in Food and Design and Technology. This role presents an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in teaching GCSE Design Technology or a similar vocational KS4 qualification to contribute their expertise in a new environment and collaborate with the Head of Faculty to develop our KS4 curriculum.

Oldbury Academy places great importance on Design and Technology, and we boast a well-resourced faculty that includes two Technicians for Design and Technology and one for Food. We are currently updating our CAD/CAM equipment to enhance the implementation of the new qualification and are seeking a qualified teacher of Design and Technology with a specialization in Wood, Metal, Electronics, Graphics, or Product Design.

For an informal discussion, please reach out to Miss Jude Hammersley (Head of Faculty) at jude.hammersley@oldburyacademy.org.uk

Stour Vale Academy Trust is dedicated to safeguarding and advancing the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to uphold this commitment. We will conduct pre-appointment checks, including DBS, and will disqualify any applicant if the results are deemed unsatisfactory. This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974.

We are equally committed to ensuring that no applicant is disadvantaged or discriminated against due to their protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010.
