About This Role
Job Purpose
•
To fulfill the professional obligations of a teacher in accordance with the school's policies and procedures, ensuring the provision of outstanding teaching and assessment that improves learning outcomes, engagement, and student success for all learners.
Role and Responsibilities
•
Lesson Planning, Teaching and Learning
•
Developing effective teaching and assessment approaches that are in line with the school's Teaching & Learning and Assessment policies.
•
Maintaining high standards as defined by the school’s Behaviour for Learning Policy, encouraging positive practices related to punctuality, behavior, uniform, quality of work, and homework (home learning).
•
Ensure that the curriculum scope and sequence, along with unit and lesson planning, are current, accurate, and adhere to IB and school standards.
•
Assessment, Recording, Reporting
•
Assess the degree to which learning objectives are achieved and use this information to improve specific areas of teaching and learning.
•
Continuously evaluate student work, set progress targets, and conduct moderation in accordance with the school’s Assessment (Marking & Feedback) policy.
•
Consistently assess and document student progress, keeping precise records; utilize performance data to guide planning, teaching, interventions, and student learning and development.
•
Generate and present comprehensive reports to parents according to the Report Writing Guidelines.
•
Professional Duties and Responsibilities
•
Recognize the unique potential within each child and aim to reflect the Dwight vision, mission, and pillars in all aspects of the role.
•
For Upper School - act as an Advisor or Co-Advisor and teach Moral Education.
•
For Upper School - ensure the FireFly platform is regularly updated with plans and resources as directed by the Head of Upper School.
•
Serve as a DP Extended Essay Supervisor / MYP Personal Project Supervisor / PYP Exhibition Supervisor when required.
•
Participate in the staff duty rotation and provide coverage for absent colleagues.
•
Assist in invigilating/proctoring examinations and assessments as necessary.
•
Engage in relevant training and professional development related to the position.
•
Support school events and activities, including the ECA program.
•
Actively collaborate within the Dwight and IB community, nurturing strong partnerships with all stakeholders, as well as the local and wider community.
•
Carry out any other reasonable tasks and additional working hours as directed by the Head of School or appointed line manager.
