The Pupil, Family and Attendance Support Worker and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead is a key member of the Inclusion Team in helping the school achieve these aims.
The post holder will work closely with the Headteacher (DSL) to ensure that safeguarding across the school is of the highest standard and consistency so that all students feel safe, secure and supported and that all matters relating to safeguarding are dealt with effectively. You will take part in strategy and inter-agency meetings and advise and support other members of staff on child welfare and safeguarding. You will liaise with relevant agencies and make referrals to SPA following up where appropriate. You will also work with the headteacher on monitoring and addressing poor attendance, persistent absence and poor punctuality, working with families to identify barriers and provide targeted support to improve attendance.
You will work closely with the SENCo and Wellbeing Lead to support pupils and their families to address the barriers to their learning and help them to manage their own emotional, behavioural and social needs more successfully. This will include supporting on the ground to manage behaviour throughout the school day, in line with the school’s Relationships and Behaviour Policy.
