Main purpose

The educator will:

  • Fulfill the professional duties expected of teachers while consistently adhering to the standards established in the UK and UAE Teachers’ Standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree is a necessity, accompanied by a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed.).
  • Ideally, candidates should have at least 2 years of successful teaching experience in Arabic and French within the British Curriculum.
  • Experience teaching in the UAE is considered a plus.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Knowledge of the British National Curriculum.
  • Familiarity with adaptive teaching and learning strategies.
  • A comprehensive understanding of child learning processes.
  • Ability to customize instruction to meet diverse student needs.
  • Skill in building productive relationships with students.
  • Awareness of child safeguarding guidelines and regulations.
  • Proficiency in effective student behavior management strategies.
  • Competence in ICT, especially in utilizing technology to enhance learning experiences.
  • Ethical application of AI to support educational practices.
  • Familiarity with UAE policies and inspection frameworks is advantageous.

Duties and responsibilities

Teaching

  • Develop lesson plans that align with the school curriculum and national educational standards.
  • Deliver interactive and engaging lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, cultural awareness, and diversity.
  • Assess and monitor students’ academic progress through various methods, including quizzes, exams, projects, and presentations.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance and behavior.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and school staff to design interdisciplinary projects and activities.
  • Stay updated on the latest teaching strategies, technologies, and resources in Arabic language and literature.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, such as workshops, conferences, and training sessions.
  • Offer support and guidance to students needing additional help or academic assistance.
  • Attend staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school events as required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and assignments.
  • Adhere to the school’s policies and procedures relating to academic integrity, student behavior, and safety.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community.
  • Actively participate in school events and activities, including sports days, talent shows, and charity initiatives.
  • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of teaching strategies and adjust them as needed to ensure student success.

Whole-school organisation, strategy and development

  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and assessment of the school’s policies, practices, and procedures that support its vision and values.
  • Make a significant contribution to the overall life and ethos of the school.
  • Work collaboratively with others on curriculum and student development to achieve coordinated outcomes.
  • Provide cover in situations where another teacher is unavailable.
  • Lead designated extracurricular activities before, during, and after school.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
