About This Role

Aldar Education is searching for an exceptional Teacher of English to join the Middle and Senior School at Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi for the academic year 2026-2027.

Key Responsibilities


Delivering inspiring lessons that motivate students to excel and achieve their utmost potential is fundamental to this role.

Specific roles and responsibilities include:

- Collaborating effectively as part of a team
- Communicating clearly and effectively with all stakeholders
- Fostering positive relationships with every member of the school community
- Partnering with fellow educators to design engaging lessons aligned with the curriculum
- Maintaining professional communication and flexibility with colleagues
- Engaging with parents to ensure the well-being and academic success of all students
- Cooperating with curriculum support staff (when applicable) to enhance student development
- Serving as a form tutor and addressing the pastoral needs of students.

A. Teaching and Learning

- Possessing a strong grasp of the British curriculum
- Organizing classroom resources and creating displays that promote a vibrant learning atmosphere
- Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons that cater to diverse student abilities
- Motivating students through enthusiastic and creative teaching methods
- Conducting assessments according to the school's assessment policy
- Reflecting on classroom practices, student progress, and adjusting planning and resources accordingly
- Ensuring the integration of the Mamoura British Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and values throughout the curriculum.

B. Assessment and Data

- Taking accountability for the academic progress of the classes taught
- Meeting the necessary requirements for assessing and documenting student development using the school's designated assessment system
- Utilizing assessment data to inform future planning, teaching strategies, and interventions
- Providing constructive feedback to parents and guardians regarding student progress during Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.

C. Behavior Management and Responsibilities

- Adhering to the school's Behaviour Policy
- Effectively managing classroom dynamics using tailored approaches to inspire, motivate, and challenge students
- Building strong relationships with students, exercising authority appropriately, and taking decisive action when necessary within the Behaviour Policy
- Acting as a positive role model by consistently demonstrating the attitudes, values, and behaviors expected of students
- Upholding high standards of behavior, encouraging self-discipline and independence among all learners
- Integrating the Mamoura Values DNA language and attitudes throughout the curriculum
- Performing duties as assigned in accordance with the school's policy.

D. Broader Professional Responsibilities

- Collaborating within departmental teams to support planning, assessment, resources, and special events
- Assisting in organizing and participating in school events, outings, and activities, including those that may occur on weekends or evenings
- Communicating effectively with parents/guardians about students' achievements and well-being using school systems like CPOMS as appropriate
- Contributing positively to the broader school life and ethos
- Leading a weekly ECA each term.

Minimum Qualifications:

- A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related subject, along with a PGCE or equivalent.

Minimum Experience:

- At least 2 years of teaching experience following the English National Curriculum.

Job-Specific Knowledge & Skills:

- An outstanding teacher with a proven track record across various age groups
- Experience in multiple International Schools is desirable
- Familiarity with the UK National Curriculum
- Strong interpersonal skills
- A commitment to the School Vision and Mission Statement

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
