About This Role

Aldar Academies is excited to announce an opening for an exceptional Teacher - Primary with the added responsibility of Head of Year at Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi, starting in August 2026.

Mamoura British Academy follows a British curriculum, accommodating mixed genders until Year 8 and transitioning to a girls-only school from Year 9 onwards. The academy is housed in a modern facility situated in the heart of Abu Dhabi. B. Leadership:

- Contribute to the overarching vision and strategic direction of the school.
- Lead team and planning meetings to ensure effective communication, organization, and success.
- Ensure that learning opportunities are innovative, purposeful, and challenging across all curriculum areas.
- Promote the pastoral care and well-being of students by adhering to established systems and procedures.
- Provide effective line management for a team of teachers and teaching assistants, ensuring they meet the UAE Professional Teacher Standards.
- Engage in the school's Monitoring, Evaluating, and Reporting processes, ensuring high standards and expectations are consistently upheld.
- Play a role in the school's Professional Development cycle, sharing best practices with colleagues.
- Actively participate in the tailored Middle Leader training program offered by the school.

C. Teaching and Learning:

- Possess the ability to teach all facets of the Primary English National Curriculum.
- Organize the classroom and learning resources, creating displays that foster a positive learning environment and support the unique selling proposition of Mamoura British Academy in this area.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that cater to the diverse abilities within the class.
- Provide support and interventions for students with EAL or additional learning needs.
- Engage and motivate students with enthusiastic and imaginative lesson presentations.
- Document children's work and learning in accordance with the Mamoura British Academy Marking and Feedback policy.
- Reflect on lessons and student progress, adjusting planning and curriculum to enhance learning.
- Collaborate with professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists when necessary.
- Ensure that the Mamoura British Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attributes are integrated throughout the curriculum.
- Contribute to the advancement of teaching and learning across the school by sharing effective practices and participating in school CPD and T&L initiatives.
- Demonstrate effective use of technology through innovative lesson delivery and continuous provision.

D. Assessment and Data:

- Take responsibility for the attainment and progress of a class, ensuring students exceed expected benchmarks.
- Meet assessment and recording requirements for pupils' development using Learning Ladders.
- Utilize assessment data to inform future planning and interventions.
- Provide regular updates to parents and carers on student progress during Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.
- Prepare and contribute to termly Pupil Progress meetings.

E. Behaviour Management and Duties:

- Adhere to the Mamoura British Academy behaviour management policy and promote the TRACK Values to maintain high expectations.
- Manage classes effectively, using strategies appropriate to pupils' needs to inspire, motivate, and challenge them.
- Foster positive relationships with students and parents, following school procedures to address any rare instances of undesirable behavior.
- Serve as a positive role model, consistently demonstrating the attitudes, values, and behaviors expected of students.
- Fulfill playground and other duties promptly, interactively, and proactively.
- Ensure that any concerns related to behavior and safeguarding are properly documented and addressed through CPOMS.

Minimum Qualification:

- A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field with a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.

Minimum Experience:

- At least 3 years of teaching experience in the English National Curriculum.
- Leadership experience is preferred.

Job-Specific Knowledge & Skills:

- Proven success in teaching across a range of age abilities.
- A passion for education and a belief in the potential of every student.
- Ability to work under pressure, solve problems, and exhibit resilience.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development (CPD).
- Experience in multiple International Schools is a plus.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
