MYP Individuals & Societies Teacher (May 4th Start)
About This Role

Curriculum and Instruction
- Develop and execute engaging, inquiry-based lessons that align with MYP subject goals and assessment criteria.
- Present subject-specific material that encourages conceptual understanding and its application in real-life contexts.
- Integrate Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills and facilitate the growth of the IB Learner Profile attributes.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate the diverse learning needs, backgrounds, and abilities of all students.
- Utilize technology and digital resources to enrich learning experiences when appropriate.
Assessment and Reporting
- Create and administer assessments following MYP subject criteria and moderation guidelines.
- Employ formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instructional practices.
- Deliver timely, constructive feedback to students to aid in their academic development and self-reflection.
- Prepare and submit precise student reports while actively participating in parent-teacher conferences.
Learning Environment and Student Support
- Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Aid in students’ social, emotional, and academic growth through proactive pastoral care.
- Encourage student voice, choice, and responsibility in their learning journey.
- Collaborate with the learning support team to implement necessary accommodations and modifications.
Collaboration and Professionalism
- Collaborate with MYP team members and subject departments to enhance interdisciplinary units and ensure curriculum alignment.
- Contribute to the creation and evaluation of MYP curriculum documents and planning templates.
- Engage in professional development, staff meetings, and school-wide initiatives.
- Maintain effective communication with parents, students, and colleagues.
- Exemplify professionalism, ethical behavior, and dedication to the school’s mission and values.
Required Qualifications and Competencies:
- A relevant bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field, along with a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education.
- At least 2 years of teaching experience, ideally in a middle years or international school environment.
- Experience or training in the IB Middle Years Programme is highly preferred.
- Proven understanding of concept-based and inquiry-led teaching methods.
- Strong assessment literacy and familiarity with criterion-referenced assessment.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
