About This Role

ICan School is on the lookout for a passionate and dedicated Class Teacher to become a part of our devoted team. Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Curriculum Delivery


Design and implement creative, tailored, and engaging lessons that align with the National Curriculum and the school’s educational framework.


Ensure that all students achieve outstanding progress through effective teaching methods, assessment for learning, and personalized support.


Incorporate technology and innovative techniques into your teaching practice as appropriate.

Classroom Management and Behaviour


Create a positive, organized classroom atmosphere that enhances learning and upholds high standards of behavior.


Consistently apply the school’s behavior policy to promote a respectful and inclusive learning environment.

Pupil Assessment and Progress Tracking


Employ both formative and summative assessment methods to track student progress.


Keep thorough records and utilize data to guide planning and interventions.


Provide regular, constructive feedback to students in accordance with the school’s assessment policy.

Parental and Community Engagement


Effectively communicate with parents and guardians through meetings, reports, and informal updates.


Collaborate with families to support children’s learning, growth, and well-being.

Pastoral and Safeguarding Duties


Take charge of the pastoral care and safeguarding of students in your class, identifying any concerns and adhering to school procedures.


Encourage the well-being and personal development of all students through a nurturing approach.

Professional Development and Collaboration


Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and school-wide events.


Engage in ongoing professional development and remain updated on best practices in education.


Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and the broader school community.

Requirements

Qualifications


Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed.) with KY.S.A.T.S accreditation (or a commitment to obtain this).


Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) from a UK university or a subject-specific degree along with a PGCE (or an equivalent qualification), subject to KY.S.A.T.S accreditation.

Experience


Demonstrated experience teaching in Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2.


Solid understanding of the UK National Curriculum.


Experience with a variety of assessment and differentiation techniques.
