About This Role
Yas School is on the lookout for a dynamic Literacy Coach to become a part of our team starting in August 2026 for the academic year 2026-2027, or potentially sooner.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a leading government school in Abu Dhabi dedicated to integrating Emirati cultural values with contemporary global standards to provide an exceptional educational journey for our students. We seek a candidate who is enthusiastic about embodying our school’s values while appreciating the rich culture and heritage of the UAE. At Yas School, we implement the Ministry of Education (MOE) curriculum with a strong emphasis on inclusive education, enrichment, and preparing learners for the future. Established in 2015, we are the largest single-campus K-12 government institution serving over 1750 boys and girls on our expansive campus.
We are looking for an accomplished educator with a background in either UK or US curricula, and ideally, familiarity with the UAE Ministry of Education (MOE) curriculum.
In the role of Literacy Coach, your responsibilities will include executing focused literacy strategies outlined in the literacy improvement plan. This involves coaching and aiding targeted teachers, engaging in team teaching, facilitating student intervention programs, and crafting effective instructional plans and resources.
The ideal candidate should possess:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a Post Graduate Diploma in Education
• A Master’s Degree in Education/Educational Leadership or a related discipline is a plus
• Proficiency in English, evidenced by a minimum IELTS score of 6 or its equivalent
• Bilingual abilities in English and Arabic are highly valued
• A UAE Certified Teaching License or equivalent, or actively working towards it
• A minimum of 4 years of classroom teaching experience in either English or Arabic subject areas
• Previous coaching experience is advantageous
