About This Role

NACIS Shanghai is seeking to hire several Secondary English Teachers to enhance exceptional teaching and learning in Secondary English and Literature.

The School:

Established in September 2016, NACIS Shanghai provides a creative, challenging, and fulfilling educational experience for its students. We welcome learners aged 6 to 18 into our dynamic and internationally-oriented school community. Our unique bilingual, blended learning program culminates in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and A-level Programme. Located in the Minhang District of Shanghai, our school boasts state-of-the-art facilities that complement our forward-thinking approach.

Our faculty includes professionals from 10 different countries, with significant representation from China, the UK, Ireland, and North America.

The Role:

We are on the lookout for a few qualified Secondary English Teachers to join our team, where your responsibilities will include:

- Delivering a blended English curriculum to Grades 6 through 8, IGCSE for Grades 9 and 10, or A-level/IBDP, with specific grade assignments based on your curriculum experience.

- Demonstrating comprehensive curriculum knowledge while being adaptable to teach various components of the English curriculum within the department.

- Ensuring that planning, preparation, instruction, assessment, and reporting align with student needs and the school’s expectations.

- Setting high standards for student achievement by designing engaging learning activities in line with our Secondary curriculum and fostering a culture of limitless potential.

- Creating a respectful classroom atmosphere that encourages learning through inquiry and discussion.

- Actively participating in broader school development and growth initiatives.

The Successful Candidate will Possess:

- Qualified Teacher Status along with three to four years of teaching experience in Secondary English and Literature.

- A solid understanding of effective teaching and learning theories, including the ability to cater to the diverse needs of all students through classroom organization, differentiation, and learning strategies.

- A PGCE/QTS or a nationally recognized teaching license.

- A degree in English Language and Literature is preferred.

- A collaborative mindset and flexibility.

About You:

You will be eager to collaborate and share your specialized knowledge, serving as an excellent representative of the school. Your confident communication skills will enable you to engage effectively with various audiences, fostering strong relationships with parents and students. You will adapt swiftly to our fast-paced international setting while meeting visa requirements for China, including holding a bachelor’s degree, a clean criminal background check, and a minimum of 24 months of teaching experience.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
