About This Role

Summary:
The Subject Director plays a vital role within the Organization's academic leadership team, charged with the oversight of curriculum development, management of teaching quality, and the professional growth of teachers in the designated subject area of Maths. By fostering collaboration across campuses and integrating interdisciplinary approaches, the Subject Director ensures that the teaching of the subject meets international education standards (including IG, A-Level, IB, DSE, etc.) while continually improving student learning outcomes and fostering innovative skills.

Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Development
- Spearhead the planning, design, and revision of subject curricula, ensuring a blend of academic rigor, global perspectives, and regional relevance.
- Create interdisciplinary initiatives (like STEAM, PBL, etc.) that respond to educational research trends and student needs, encouraging innovative teaching methodologies.
- Supervise the implementation of curricula, regularly assessing and refining course materials, teaching resources, and evaluation tools.

2. Teaching Support and Teacher Development
- Offer professional training, instructional guidance, and feedback from classroom observations to subject teachers across campuses, enhancing overall teaching standards.
- Build a community for subject educators by organizing research initiatives, workshops, and resource-sharing platforms to promote the exchange of effective practices.
- Assist in the recruitment and evaluation of subject teachers and contribute to their professional development strategies.

3. Academic Quality Management
- Establish teaching standards and assessment frameworks for the subject, monitoring implementation across campuses to ensure educational objectives are achieved.
- Analyze student performance data and feedback, spearheading improvements in teaching methods and intervention strategies.
- Regularly prepare subject development reports for management, including analyses of effectiveness, challenges encountered, and enhancement plans.

4. Interdisciplinary and Cross-Campus Collaboration
- Work alongside other Subject Directors to create interdisciplinary courses or projects, promoting comprehensive education and the cultivation of core competencies.
- Coordinate resources among campuses to tackle common challenges in subject teaching, ensuring consistency in curricula.
- Represent the Organization at international education forums or collaborative initiatives, strengthening the subject area’s presence.

Qualifications and Experience:

Educational Background and Experience:
- A Master’s degree or higher, ideally in educational leadership, curriculum and instruction, or a related discipline.
- More than 10 years of teaching experience, including at least 3 years in positions such as subject group leader, curriculum developer, or teacher trainer.
- Knowledge of international curriculum frameworks (like IG, A-Level, IB, DSE) and assessment standards.

Core Competencies:
- Exceptional skills in curriculum design, with the capability to incorporate educational technologies (like AI and digital tools) to enhance teaching effectiveness.
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills, adept at cross-cultural communication and managing diverse groups.
- Proficient in data-driven decision making, using learning outcome analysis to guide instructional improvements.
- Fluent in both Chinese and English (written and spoken), thriving in a bilingual work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in multinational educational institutions or managing multiple campuses is preferred.
- Published research in subject teaching or involvement in international education projects is an advantage.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
