We are on the lookout for a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Class Teacher and Year Group Leader to join our Key Stage 1 team starting August 2026. This remarkable opportunity allows you to lead the teaching and learning process in Year 1 while delivering exceptional lessons to your own class. As part of our expanding leadership framework, the successful applicant will be instrumental in enhancing standards and facilitating teamwork within the year group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver consistently high-quality instruction in accordance with the National Curriculum for England
  • Lead the Year 1 team in planning, assessment, moderation, and curriculum implementation
  • Utilize data and assessment tools effectively to promote progress and enhance outcomes
  • Mentor and support teachers within the year group, fostering a culture of collaboration and reflection
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning atmosphere for all students
  • Foster effective communication with parents and caregivers, establishing strong partnerships
  • Participate in whole-school initiatives and provide support to the senior leadership team
  • Ensure teaching and learning maintain consistency and excellence across the year group
  • Advocate for behavior for learning and wellbeing strategies in line with school policy

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed.) or PGCE with QTS
  • At least 3 years of experience in a primary teaching role (UK curriculum preferred)
  • Prior experience in a middle leadership position or readiness to transition into leadership
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the National Curriculum for England and effective pedagogical practices
  • Demonstrated impact on student progress and achievement
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities
  • ADEK approval or eligibility is a plus

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
