Teacher of Chemistry
About This Role
Key Responsibilities:
· Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Chemistry lessons to middle years students, fostering a deep understanding of scientific principles.
· Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe laboratory environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and academic rigour.
· Design and implement a variety of formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and provide meaningful, constructive feedback.
· Collaborate actively within the Science department to develop curriculum resources, align teaching practices, and contribute to a culture of shared excellence.
· Engage fully in the wider school community through events, parent-teacher conferences, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
· Support the school's co-curricular program by leading or assisting with activities such as science clubs, academic competitions, or STEM initiatives.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a closely related field (Master’s degree preferred).
· A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or international equivalent).
· Proven experience teaching Chemistry at the secondary school level.
· A strong academic background in Chemistry and a passion for the subject.
· Excellent command of English, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
· Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a diverse, multicultural school community.
· Demonstrated commitment to innovative pedagogy, student-centred learning, and continuous professional growth.
