As a result of roll growth and an increasing demand for our service we are seeking teachers to join our team. If you are an experienced teacher with a heart for learners with diverse needs, Arahunga Specialist School could be just what you are looking for!

Our teachers work collaboratively in teaching teams and are able to focus on
teaching small groups of learners. This is an opportunity for a passionate and
reflective educator to gain experience working with diverse learners. All our staff receive mentoring and coaching to support their professional growth, targeted professional development, and you will be part of a supportive group of practitioners.

We have a range of opportunities based in Whanganui that include:

• Specialist Teachers working with small groups of learners
• Fixed term position to cover Maternity Leave
• Relieving teachers
• Outreach Teachers

You will need:

• to be a qualified teacher with a current New Zealand practicing certificate
• to be able to adapt the New Zealand Curriculum (particularly within Level One
  and below)
• recent experience in New Zealand school settings
• excellent communication skills
• a positive strength based attitude that is solution focused
• to be able to work collaboratively and build positive relationships quickly
• a positive mindset and be willing to work hard and strive to make learning fun and engaging for our learners.
• a sense of humor
• enjoy working as part of a team
