About This Role

ENGAGEMENT AND INTERACTION – SCHOOL AMBASSADOR TO INTERNAL COMMUNITY

▪ Assist in cultivating international-mindedness and all NAS Jiaxing learner attributes within the curriculum.
▪ Create an engaging learning environment rooted in understanding and respect.
▪ Foster open communication grounded in respect and understanding.
▪ Greet each student upon their arrival every morning or lesson to ensure safety, assess students at the door, and monitor their wellbeing.
▪ Observe and help manage students during lunchtime/canteen, ensuring each child sits properly and eats appropriately.
▪ Ensure that any injuries or medical concerns are immediately directed to the school nurse.
▪ Maintain a positive and healthy working environment between adults and students.
▪ Build polite and friendly relationships with all parents and families delivering students to school.
▪ Develop and uphold clear communication channels with colleagues, parents, and the broader school community.
▪ Share curriculum information effectively with parents.
▪ Regularly update and maintain records using the ISAMS electronic system.
▪ Publish written records and portfolios documenting evidence of students’ work and developmental progress.
▪ Use professional email etiquette when communicating with colleagues, parents, and administrators.
▪ Engage with parents through face-to-face meetings and Parent Teacher Meetings.

LEARNING AND TEACHING

▪ Teach the curriculum in alignment with IPC, IMYC, IGCSE, or A-Level standards.
▪ Differentiate classroom instruction to cater to the individual learning needs and styles of students.
▪ Provide explicit instruction on ongoing and inter/trans-disciplinary skills.
▪ Adopt a constructivist, inquiry-based teaching approach that encourages critical thinking skills.
▪ Offer learning experiences that build on students' existing knowledge and abilities.
▪ Utilize technology as a tool for learning, integrating ICT skills where feasible.
▪ Implement a variety of teaching and learning strategies that promote independent thinking and subject-specific knowledge acquisition.
▪ Encourage student reflection on their learning experiences.
▪ Use varied grouping and regrouping of students for diverse learning purposes.
▪ Empower students to take self-initiated actions as a result of what they learn.
▪ Manage classroom resources, including furniture and equipment.
▪ Update notice boards to showcase teaching and learning activities inside and outside the classroom.
▪ Ensure compliance with curriculum visualization standards in the classroom.
▪ Create a stimulating and motivating classroom atmosphere.
▪ Deliver engaging and qualitative open class lessons for parents and visitors.
▪ Conduct weekly ECA and Boarding lessons where applicable.
▪ Ensure safe classroom management and the safe handling of heavy-duty objects at all times.
▪ Organize classroom outings relevant to teaching and learning while ensuring safety protocols are observed and all communications with management are documented before departure.
▪ Where applicable, teach English Literacy, including reading, writing, and phonics, using curriculum standards across all learning areas.
▪ Where applicable, oversee and direct the Teaching Assistant.
▪ Where applicable, teach assigned subject areas following curriculum standards across all learning areas.
▪ Assess and document student progress utilizing various assessment tools and strategies.
▪ Complete student reports.
▪ Manage and maintain student portfolios.
▪ Pre-assess students’ knowledge and understanding before introducing new learning.
▪ Employ strategies for student self-assessment, peer assessment, and teacher assessment to encourage reflection.

PLANNING AND PREPARATION

▪ Plan and review the curriculum to meet IPC, IMYC, IGCSE, or A-Level standards.
▪ Collaborate with the team to plan lessons and guide future directions.
▪ Jointly develop and adhere to a Grade Level Essential Agreement.
▪ Participate in and contribute to weekly collaborative planning meetings.
▪ Work together with the Grade Level Team, Specialists, and Coordinators to develop and document teaching and learning experiences using planners and relevant curriculum materials.
▪ Document minutes from collaborative planning meetings and work cooperatively to accomplish tasks within the Grade Level Team.
▪ Provide support as needed for assembly preparations.
▪ Assist as needed in organizing events such as sports, arts, and celebrations.

▪ Show commitment to ongoing professional development.
▪ Engage in curriculum and other professional development programs.
▪ Maintain professional competence through in-service education and performance management activities.
▪ Manage personal development effectively, aligned with the company's commitment to staff investment.
▪ Ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities and company policies regarding Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, and other relevant legislation.

OTHER

▪ Hold a current Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure or its equivalent for countries lived in outside of the UK.
▪ Comply with visa requirements for working in China.
▪ Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils, with a willingness to undertake relevant child protection training when necessary.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
