Job Overview

Amity International School, Abu Dhabi is looking to appoint a well-qualified, experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated Social Worker to support the holistic development and well-being of our students across the school.

In order to support our growing school community, Amity is seeking a dedicated Social Worker who will play a vital role in identifying and addressing students' social, emotional, and academic needs. The successful applicant will have experience working with diverse student populations and a commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Working closely with students, families, staff, and external agencies, you will provide essential counselling support, crisis intervention, and safeguarding leadership. The school is comprised of over seventy nationalities, requiring cultural sensitivity and an understanding of diverse family structures and support systems. We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have experience providing counselling and student support in an educational setting

  • Demonstrate strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge

  • Can build effective partnerships with families and external agencies

  • Develop and implement early intervention strategies for at-risk students

  • Work collaboratively with pastoral leaders and inclusion teams

  • Maintain accurate records and prepare comprehensive reports

  • Show positive involvement in wider school life and pastoral initiatives

Key Performance Indicators

  • Students' social, emotional, and academic needs are identified early and addressed effectively

  • Parents receive clear guidance regarding internal support and community resources

  • Staff collaborate effectively with the social worker to enhance student well-being

  • Timely crisis responses and accurate safeguarding documentation

  • Positive involvement in wider school life, including student activities and pastoral initiatives

Qualifications required:

  • QFE 7 (Bachelor’s Degree) in Social Work or Social Service and 2 years minimum experience in youth-related social work.

  • Or QFE 7 (Bachelor’s Degree) in Psychology, Counseling, Youth Development, Sociology, or a related subject and 4 years of experience in youth-related social work.

  • Valid Social care license from DCD (Department of Community Development)

Compensation

£35,000 - £55,000 (Tax-Free Equivalent)
