Secondary Languages Teacher (Spanish with French)

The Hamilton International School (THIS), part of the International Schools Partnership (ISP), is seeking an inspiring and skilled Languages Teacher (Spanish with French) to join our dynamic Secondary team. About the Role

We are looking for a passionate languages educator with the ability to teach Spanish as the primary language, supported by the ability to teach French in lower secondary (Grades 6–8). Candidates with experience delivering IBDP Spanish and/or High School Diploma Spanish are strongly encouraged to apply.

The ideal candidate will promote a love of languages, cultivate strong linguistic skills, and deliver high-quality, culturally rich learning experiences for students of all abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Spanish across Grades 6–12, including High School Diploma and/or IBDP Spanish.

  • Teach French to lower secondary students (Grades 6–8).

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that build communication skills, intercultural understanding, and linguistic proficiency.

  • Set high expectations that inspire and challenge students.

  • Use effective assessment strategies to monitor progress and guide learning.

  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of diverse learners, including EAL and high-ability students.

  • Contribute to curriculum development, schemes of work, and department resources.

  • Foster a positive and respectful learning environment rooted in mutual respect.

  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and well-being.

  • Support the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and cultural events.

  • Uphold the highest standards of professional conduct, safeguarding, and health & safety.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or Languages (with teaching qualification).

  • Valid teaching certification that meets Qatar MOEHE requirements.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience teaching Spanish at secondary level.

  • Experience with High School Diploma, IB Diploma Programme, or A Level Spanish.

  • Ability to teach French in lower secondary (Grades 6–8).

  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of modern language pedagogy.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience working in an international or multicultural school environment is preferred.
