Whareorino School is a small, well-resourced rural school on the West Coast, within the Tainui rohe of Ngāti Maniapoto. Located 90 minutes from Te Kuiti and two hours from New Plymouth, we cater for Years 0–8 and currently have a roll of eight ākonga across Years 1–5.
We seek a flexible, engaging and adaptable NZ registered teacher to provide principal release (0.3 FTTE). Some flexibility in days is available by agreement.
You will be confident working in a multi-level classroom and building strong, respectful relationships with ākonga. Teaching and learning is grounded in structured literacy, structured mathematics, and a localised curriculum, including Enviroschools and Garden to Table. Our approach values relationships, resilience and reflection, with learning connected to our unique rural and coastal environment.
Terms and conditions, including base salary and isolation allowance (pro-rated), are in accordance with the relevant collective agreement.
