Position Overview
The One World International School is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Primary School English Teacher to join our international team. The successful candidate will teach English across the primary school following the Cambridge Primary curriculum and support students in developing strong literacy skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
Teachers at TOWIS are expected to deliver high quality lessons, monitor student progress carefully, and provide clear feedback that supports improvement. As an international school where many students are learning in English as an additional language, teachers must be skilled in supporting language development while maintaining high academic expectations.
We are looking for a teacher who believes in a holistic approach to education and who is willing to take an active role in the wider life of the school through assemblies, events, projects, and extracurricular activities.
Key Responsibilities • Teach English across the primary years following the Cambridge curriculum • Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field • Commitment to high quality teaching and learning Due to medical insurance requirements, applicants must be under the age of 65.
• Deliver engaging lessons that develop reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills
• Teach phonics using a strong synthetic phonics approach
• Plan lessons that support students of different abilities and language backgrounds
• Use assessment and academic data to inform planning, teaching, and targeted support for students
• Assess student progress regularly and provide clear feedback
• Maintain a positive and well managed classroom environment
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to school development
• Participate actively in the wider life of the school communityQualifications and Experience
• Recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent preferred)
• Minimum two years experience teaching at primary level
• Experience teaching English to primary school students
• Strong working knowledge and experience of synthetic phonics
• Experience using assessment and academic data to inform teaching and track student progress
• Teaching practice aligned with UK Teachers’ Standards and or Cambridge Teaching Standards
• Native English speaker with excellent communication skillsPersonal Qualities
