About This Role

Job outline

Based at Shaftesbury Millie College, the Occupational Therapist will oversee OT provision for students with complex medical needs, often with associated difficulties such as autism. You will be clinically responsible for Occupational Therapy input for some students in terms of functional life skills and sensory processing to reduce barriers to learning and embed therapeutic strategies into the college curriculum. Therapies at Millie College form part of the integrated delivery model, where therapies are functional, have purpose, and demonstrate a meaningful benefit. Therapies are needs-led, regularly monitored, and integrated into the student's college day. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To work closely with the OT team and be an effective member of the multi-disciplinary Team (MDT). 

  • To take responsibility for the planning of sessions; both group and 1-1 sessions. 

  • To offer support and ideas for the future development of the OT service with the aim of maintaining a high-quality service. 

  • To have collective responsibility for safeguarding all students and contribute to the safeguarding policies and procedures.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
