JOB IDENTITY

Reports to: Head of Inclusion (SENCO) / Leadership Team

Brookes Moscow, a premier international school with a strong International educational influence, invites

applications for the role of Occupational Therapist.

The Occupational Therapist supports students’ participation in school life by improving motor skills, self regulation,

sensory integration, executive functioning, and independence. The OT works collaboratively with

teachers, SENCO, families, and external providers to design and deliver interventions aligned to the school’s

inclusive approach and American curriculum demands.

Key duties include direct intervention, consultation, writing reports, adapting the environment, recommending

adaptive equipment, and providing training on its use.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of students’ fine motor, gross motor, sensory processing, handwriting, regulation, functional participation, coordination, and executive functioning skills.

• Develop individualised OT intervention plans based on data, classroom observations, and collaboration with SENCO and teachers.

• Deliver targeted therapy sessions (1:1 or small groups) focusing on sensory integration, selfregulation strategies, motor planning, handwriting instruction, and classroom functional skills.

• Provide teachers with practical strategies for supporting sensory needs, seating arrangements, transitions, attention regulation, and task organization.

• Design sensory diets and classroom support plans for students requiring adjustments during the school day.

• Participate in case-meetings, ISP development, progress monitoring, and multidisciplinary discussions.

• Educate parents on home-based exercises, motor skill development, and sensory strategies; run workshops when needed.

• Support students during transitions (arrival, breaks, moving between classrooms) to promote independence and reduce stress.

• Maintain accurate session notes, assessment reports, progress documentation, and safety records.

• Advise the school on equipment needs (adaptive tools, sensory room materials, alternative seating, OT supplies).

• Assist in safeguarding procedures and ensure all interventions follow ethical and professional standards.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy; full professional certification / licensure.

• Minimum 2–3 years of clinical or school-based OT experience (international or bilingual school experience preferred).

• Strong knowledge of sensory integration frameworks, executive functioning interventions, handwriting development, and motor skill acquisition.

• Experience working with students with autism, ADHD, DCD/dyspraxia, and regulation challenges.

• Ability to collaborate with teachers, SENCO, psychologists, and families in a multi-disciplinary setting.

• Excellent communication, documentation, and case-management skills.

• Proficiency in conducting functional assessments relevant to school performance.

• High emotional intelligence, calm demeanour, and strong problem-solving abilities.

• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.

Compensation

£30,000 - £45,000+ (Regional Equivalent)
