We are currently inviting applications for the position of MYP Coordinator, with a start date in August 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead, develop, and manage the effective execution of the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) at GEMS International School, ensuring complete alignment with the IB philosophy, Programme Standards & Practices, and the school’s strategic vision.
- Assist and mentor teachers in the planning and delivery of high-quality, inquiry-based, concept-driven learning, ensuring consistency, rigor, and progression across all MYP subject areas.
- Ensure clear vertical and horizontal alignment of the curriculum within the MYP and across the broader IB continuum, facilitating smooth transitions between PYP, MYP, and DP.
- Oversee and ensure the quality of MYP assessment practices, including standardization, moderation, and reporting, to uphold clarity, fairness, and consistency for students and their families.
- Advocate for inclusive teaching and learning practices throughout the program, providing effective differentiation to meet the diverse needs of our international student body, including EAL, gifted learners, and those requiring additional support.
- Guide the use of assessment data and program-level evidence to monitor student progress, inform interventions, and drive continuous enhancement across the MYP.
- Supervise key MYP elements, including Approaches to Learning (ATL), Service as Action, interdisciplinary learning, and the MYP Personal Project, ensuring robust implementation and adherence to IB requirements.
- Work closely with the Principal, senior leaders, Heads of Department, and pastoral teams to support whole-school priorities and ensure coherence in academic and pastoral care.
- Plan and deliver professional learning opportunities to enhance staff capacity and confidence in MYP teaching, learning, and assessment, aiding both seasoned and new IB educators.
- Engage actively with parents and the broader school community to communicate the MYP philosophy, curriculum structure, and assessment methods.
- Contribute to the broader school community through academic enrichment initiatives, events, and co-curricular opportunities that enhance the MYP learner experience.
- Exemplify and promote GEMS values and the IB Learner Profile, encouraging reflective practice, professional development, and a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
