About This Role

This is an exceptional opportunity to take on the role of Lead Practitioner in Real World Learning at Ladybridge High School. We are in search of a passionate and effective educator in either Computing or Enterprise who is keen on linking education to real-world applications while enhancing their leadership capabilities across the entire school.

Our goal is to expand the scope of Real World Learning at Ladybridge, with a focus on fostering our learners' agency and enterprise skills. The successful candidate will collaborate with various departments to integrate Real World Learning and Project-Based Learning into their respective curricula.

Ladybridge High School is a thriving and joyful institution with a clear mission and shared values among the school community. We prioritize achieving excellent academic results through a comprehensive education that equips our learners for life. Our commitment to the ‘Trivium’ approach to education is detailed on our website.

The diverse student body, a strong focus on professional development for staff, and a welcoming environment make Ladybridge an engaging and enjoyable workplace. We strive to be an ‘evidence-informed’ school, where teachers are encouraged to read, research, collaborate, and take thoughtful risks in their teaching.

All teaching staff at Ladybridge benefit from a generous allocation of non-contact time, typically 20%, which is twice the legal minimum. Additionally, staff enjoy flexible working afternoons every other week, ensuring they can perform their roles to the highest standards while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

As part of a close-knit Computing and Enterprise team, we believe in the strength of collaboration. We embrace a “team-first” approach, sharing ideas and responsibilities to provide our learners with an exceptional educational experience.

You will not be starting from scratch; our curriculum is well-established and thoroughly resourced, supported by effective systems that simplify your daily responsibilities in the classroom. We take pride in a curriculum that is both rich and innovative. In addition to covering the Key Stage 3 curriculum, we engage students in ‘Trivium’ projects that challenge them to address real-world problems and think creatively.

Our students go beyond just learning theory; they apply their knowledge through ambitious and creative projects such as:

· Composing original musical scores for video games using Sonic Pi
· Designing and constructing automated plant-watering robots for our school polytunnel
· Developing a kiosk system for a local zoo

The application process is straightforward. Interested candidates should complete an application form, available for download on the school’s website, and submit it along with a letter of application detailing how their experiences align with a Trivium philosophy of education.

Please note that CVs and late submissions will not be considered.

Deadline for applications: Monday, 20th April 2026 at 8:00 AM
