About you…
The successful candidate will be an ambitious, nurturing and skilled practitioner with a passion for Key Stage 1 education. They will have high expectations for all pupils, a strong understanding of early reading and phonics, and a commitment to ensuring every child develops the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to become a successful lifelong learner.
They will have a secure understanding of the teaching of phonics and early reading, recognising the importance of building strong foundations in literacy. They will use assessment effectively to identify pupils' next steps, provide timely support and challenge, and ensure that all children become confident, fluent readers.
Working as part of a supportive and collaborative team, the successful candidate will deliver a broad, ambitious and knowledge-rich curriculum within a mixed-age Year 1/2 classroom. They will be passionate about providing rich experiences across the wider curriculum that spark curiosity, promote creativity and help children make meaningful connections in their learning. They will create a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment where children feel safe, valued and inspired to achieve their very best.
