“Tuia te tamaiti ki ngā aka taumatua, kaua e tuia ki ngā aka taepa. Me aro ki te hā o te aka taumatua.”
We are seeking a passionate and experienced kaiako to join our whānau, in Ngā Kete o Te Ao Māori, who has experience in teaching NCEA Te Reo Māori Level 1, 2 & 3. This is an exciting opportunity to nurture and develop ākonga in their journey through te ao Māori, while contributing to the preservation and advancement of Māori performing arts and culture in Te Aka Taumatua through teaching and resource development.
Te Aka Taumatua is a new team that leads our bilingual and immersion te reo Māori provision for full-time, tamariki, rangatahi and dual registered ākonga at Te Kura. Te Aka Taumatua is still in its developmental stage but remains focussed on its role in the revitalisation of te reo Māori, to offer comprehensive options grounded in mātauranga Māori for ākonga and their whānau.
This role presents an opportunity to shape the next generation of young Māori leaders while contributing to the revitalisation of te reo Māori and preservation of Māori performing arts.
