Ngākōroa School is a full primary (Year 0–8), established in 2022 in the growing Auranga community in Drury. Our roll of 200+ learners is steadily increasing and is expected to exceed 300 in the coming years.

Due to ongoing roll growth, we are seeking a passionate and skilled kaiako to join our kura in a New Entrant / Year 1 co-teaching environment, working alongside an experienced kaiako to support our youngest learners as they begin their schooling journey.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a collaborative, future-focused team, building strong foundations for learning in a nurturing and engaging space.

You will be:

  • Skilled in (or developing confidence with) structured literacy and early numeracy approaches.
  • A team player who thrives in a co-teaching, collaborative environment.
  • Flexible and responsive to the needs of young learners and whānau.
  • Committed to fostering inclusive, strength-based learning environments.
  • Willing to grow your capability in tikanga and te reo Māori.
  • Passionate about play-based and inquiry learning, creating rich, authentic learning experiences.

Our vision is Kawea te Mātauranga ki te Whaiao, ki te Ao Mārama – Bringing Learning to Life. We provide opportunities for ākonga to thrive as curious, creative, and connected learners. We build whānau-like relationships and designing learning that is engaging, meaningful.

Help shape a growing kura, work alongside innovative colleagues, and access rich professional development. You will enjoy modern, well-designed collaborative spaces, beautiful surroundings and excellent resources. Most importantly, you’ll be part of a supportive team and community focused on learner success.
