What will your daily responsibilities include?
The successful applicant will:
- Bring experience in teaching Physics at the senior school level, with a preference for familiarity with IB MYP and DP.
- Have a solid understanding of the International Baccalaureate (IB) philosophy and curriculum framework.
- Collaborate on curriculum development, including creating concept-based units of inquiry along with authentic assessment strategies.
- Engage with and adapt to the diverse needs of students at various levels.
- Employ a constructivist approach to foster independent learners.
- Promote international-mindedness and service-learning initiatives.
- Exhibit high organizational standards.
- Be approachable and visible, possessing excellent interpersonal skills and a good sense of humor.
- Demonstrate flexibility, creativity, and resilience.
- Work collaboratively within a team to enhance the broader school community.
- Teach additional related subjects as required, based on departmental needs and the candidate's qualifications.
What qualifications and qualities should you possess?
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience with the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) and Diploma Programme (IB DP).
- Experience teaching Physics throughout the senior school.
- A bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field, along with a teaching qualification.
- Relevant international teaching experience.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
- Preferred: Experience or willingness to teach an additional subject, such as Mathematics or Digital Design.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed about current educational research.
- The ability to inspire, challenge, and empower students.
- Creativity, empathy, and a strong desire to positively impact students' learning experiences.
