About This Role
Bahlool British International School, a well-established British international school in Baghdad is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Primary.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading the Primary phase, driving high standards of teaching and learning and contributing to the strategic development of the school. The Role
The successful candidate will:
Provide strategic leadership and management of the Primary phase (KS1 & KS2), ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and achievement
Lead on curriculum development and implementation in line with the British curriculum
Drive school improvement initiatives, including monitoring standards, data analysis and raising attainment
Support and develop staff through coaching, appraisal and professional development
Ensure effective safeguarding, behaviour management and student wellbeing across the Primary phase
Work collaboratively with the Principal and SLT on whole-school strategy and improvement planning
Build strong relationships with parents, staff and the wider school community
Contribute actively to the wider life and ethos of the school
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in education or a relevant subject; a master’s degree in education or leadership is desirable.
Recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE or equivalent)
Significant teaching experience including minimum 3–5 years in Primary education
Proven experience in a leadership or management role within a school setting
Strong understanding of the British curriculum (KS1 & KS2)
Strong strategic thinking and organisational skills with the ability to lead change initiatives
Commitment to safeguarding, child protection and promoting student wellbeing
Ability to foster a positive school culture and promote inclusive education
