About This Role

Job Overview

Reporting to the Campus Principal, the School Head assumes the responsibility of formulating a comprehensive school development strategy encompassing both long-term and short-term goals along with leading the team to achieve these goals in each school year. The Head of School ensures that the entire staff is well-informed about the school's vision, mission and expectations, while driving change, managing complex issues, fostering innovation, and consistently striving to improve outcomes. Familiar in school budgeting control.

Key Responsibilities:

1.         Provide clear direction and supportive management to the Senior Leadership Team of Adcote Matrix International School.

2.         Work in collaboration with and support the Campus Principal to embed Internationalised educational philosophy that complement campus culture atmosphere in line with the strategic development of the school, motivate and develop the existing faculty and staff, and enhance the cohesion and sense of belonging of them. To ensure effective communication at all levels within the School which includes appropriate involvement of staff in decision-making.

3.         Work in collaboration with and support the Campus Principal to implement International best practice to the actual operation of the school.

4.         Work in collaboration with and support the Campus Principal including but not limited to contributing to the achievement of the academic management and development goals:

a)      Lead and support the work of school's teaching system, curriculum design, teaching quality management, and ensure best practice in international pedagogy is appropriately applied in all educational sectors of the School.

b)      Lead and support the management of teaching staff in all departments, establish and improve the management system, teaching staff evaluation standards, talent development plan, etc.

Lead students with vision and enthusiasm. Develop the school's supportive ethos by motivating students showing genuine interest. Encouragement and concern for their individual needs and maintain high standards of behavior among all students through a behavior policy based on self-discipline and respect for others. handling disciplinary matters fairly.

d) Lead and support the development of moral education in the school, such as supervising relevant departments to formulate professional standards and moral standards for teachers; annual work plan and implementation; all kinds of social investigation, social practice, sports activities that are beneficial to students' physical and mental development; family education guidance work, home-school communication and follow up related implementation and result evaluation.

5.        Participate in and support the school's brand promotion, students enrollment and retention work, committed to cooperating with the resources and strength of all departments to successfully achieve the financial indicators required by the school organizer.

6.        Guide and support the work of bursar, to ensure smooth progress in the following aspects:

a)      Support the human resources management of the school, including the optimization of organizational structure based on the provision of operational efficiency, the establishment of human resources, the budget control of human costs, the goal setting of the whole school staff, performance evaluation mechanism, bonus distribution, talent development, talent recruitment and selection, key position personnel decision- making and other personnel work

b)      Support school information system, facility maintenance, campus security, logistics support, student support, etc.

Qualification & Experiences:

  • Master’s degree or recognised postgraduate qualification

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in teaching, education, school administration, curriculum development, and observation and evaluation practices, including (but not limited to) IGCSE and A-level academic management

  • Experience in mentoring, leading, and managing school within a collaborative learning environment

  • Experience in teacher evaluation and professional development

  • Experience in curriculum development

  • Experience with boarding and pastoral duties, including evening duty and after-school CCAs, is an advantage

  • Strong understanding of independent school management, particularly in instructional practices, school culture, and operations

  • Familiarity with the international school application process

  • Appreciation of academic balance across the arts, experiential learning/teams, humanities, and sciences

  • Proven commitment to diversity,equity,and inclusion.
