Governor

To be a community governor you should have:

• A strong commitment to the role and to improving outcomes for children.
• Good inter-personal skills, curiosity, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Knowledge of management, or business, or a passion for the arts will greatly improve the effectiveness of our governing board and have a positive impact on our pupils’ education.

Expectations of governors: The governing body has a vital role to play in making sure every child receives the best possible education. This is achieved by ensuring that governors have the necessary skills and commitment to contribute to the effective governance and success of the school. It is expected that governors will make use of the various training opportunities available to them and play a full part in the work of the governing body.
