About This Role
Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate and certified educator to deliver engaging instruction in both German language and [another Subject], For example, English, chemistry, biology, science or any other subject. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic individual capable of fostering language acquisition and subject-specific knowledge simultaneously, ideally within a bilingual or Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) context. This role requires a strong commitment to student achievement, innovation in the classroom, and collaboration within a diverse school community.
Key Responsibilities & Duties Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in both German language and [Subject], following the school's curriculum. Employ a variety of teaching strategies to cater to diverse learning styles and proficiency levels. Integrate language learning objectives with [Subject] content, promoting academic language skills across both disciplines. Utilize educational technology effectively to enhance student learning and engagement. Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress in both German and [Subject]. Provide timely, constructive, and actionable feedback to students. Maintain accurate records of student achievement and prepare comprehensive student reports. Analyze assessment data to inform future teaching and intervention strategies. Create a safe, respectful, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment. Establish and maintain clear expectations for student behavior and classroom routines. Identify and support the individual learning needs of all students, including those requiring additional challenge or support. Collaborate actively with colleagues in both the Language and [Subject] departments. Participate actively in departmental meetings, school-wide training, and professional development opportunities. Communicate effectively and professionally with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress. Contribute to the wider school community through participation in events, clubs, or committees. A Bachelor's degree in Education, German, [Subject], or a closely related field. A Master's degree is preferred. A valid teaching certification/license qualifying you to teach both German and [Subject] at the relevant school level. A minimum of 2 years of successful teaching experience in German and [Subject]. Proven experience in bilingual education, immersion programs, or CLIL methodology is highly desirable.1. Experience
Language Proficiency
Native or near-native fluency in German
Professional proficiency in English sufficient for collaboration, reporting, and communication within the school community.
Knowledge & Skills Deep content knowledge in both German language pedagogy and [Subject]. Strong understanding of second language acquisition principles. Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills. Technological proficiency with standard educational tools and platforms.
