Position Overview: We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Program Support Teacher to become a part of our team. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in designing and executing educational programs that are inclusive, celebrate diversity, and honor the rich cultural heritage of our community. This role necessitates a strong dedication to inclusive educational practices, indigenization, and a competency-based approach to learning.

Responsibilities:
Course Development: Collaborate with educators, Elders, and community members to create and implement a competency-based curriculum that is deeply rooted in Indigenous knowledge and values.

Cultural Inclusion: Aid in fostering a learning environment that acknowledges and integrates diverse Indigenous viewpoints, ensuring that the curriculum mirrors the local Indigenous culture.

Equity and Inclusion: Assist teachers in adopting strategies that enhance equity and inclusion within the school community, addressing educational inequities and nurturing a sense of belonging for every student.

Community Engagement: Act as a bridge between the school and the community, gathering input, fostering collaboration, and obtaining feedback to continuously enhance educational programs.

Land-Based Education: Support the creation of inclusive, land-based learning experiences designed to ensure equitable access to the curriculum and cultivate a profound connection to the land and traditional practices.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education
- Eligibility for a Northwest Territories teaching certificate

- A comprehensive understanding of Inclusive Schooling practices within the Northwest Territories.
- A proven commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Evidence of understanding and applying differentiated teaching practices.
- Strong knowledge of Indigenous cultures, histories, and traditions.
- Experience with Inquiry-based instructional methods.
- Background in curriculum implementation, particularly focusing on competency-based education.
- Familiarity with competency-based assessment and evaluation.
- Knowledge of principles and practices related to land-based education.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.

Compensation

$95,232 - 153,748 + Community based Northern Livin
