Position Overview: We are in search of an enthusiastic and dedicated Program Support Teacher to become a part of our team. The ideal candidate will have a crucial role in shaping and executing inclusive educational programs that honor diversity, promote equity, and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of our community. This role demands a strong dedication to inclusive educational practices, indigenization, and a competency-based curriculum. Responsibilities: Course Development: Work collaboratively with educators, Elders, and community stakeholders to create and implement a competency-based curriculum that is grounded in Indigenous knowledge and values. Cultural Inclusion: Foster the establishment of a learning environment that values and integrates diverse Indigenous perspectives, ensuring that the curriculum mirrors the local Indigenous culture. Equity and Inclusion: Assist teachers in applying strategies that advance equity and inclusion throughout the school community, tackling educational disparities and nurturing a sense of belonging for every student. Community Engagement: Act as a liaison between the school and the community, actively seeking input, collaboration, and feedback to continuously enhance educational programs. Land-Based Education: Aid in the creation of inclusive, land-based experiences aimed at ensuring equitable access to the curriculum and cultivating a profound connection to the land and traditional practices. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Education Eligible for a Northwest Territories teaching certificate The following criteria will be crucial considerations in the hiring process: A thorough understanding of Inclusive Schooling practices within the Northwest Territories. A proven commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Ability to demonstrate an understanding and application of differentiated practices. Strong knowledge of Indigenous cultures, history, and traditions. Experience in applying Inquiry-based instructional strategies. Background in curriculum implementation, particularly with a focus on competency-based education. Experience in competency-based assessment and evaluation. Familiarity with land-based education principles and practices. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation

$95,232 - 153,748 + Community based Northern Livin
