We are currently in search of an outstanding early childhood educator to collaborate with teachers in our Junior Kindergarten program. As part of a cooperative teaching team, you will play a crucial role in nurturing the growth and development of young girls within the Crofton House School Early Childhood Education Centre. Our teaching and learning methodology is play-based and is further guided by principles of student-centeredness, collaboration, and inquiry, which deepens the learning experience for our young students.
Hours: 8:30-4:30 pm daily
Responsibilities:
ā Collaborate effectively within a dynamic team of early childhood educators
ā Deliver the Junior Kindergarten program utilizing a team-based approach
ā Integrate a meaningful play-based curriculum
ā Plan and execute engaging and interactive lessons
ā Assist ECE students through a variety of play-based learning activities
ā Seek opportunities for outdoor learning experiences
ā Support students during daily physical education activities
ā Enhance the educational experience for diverse learners
ā Provide small group and individual instruction to support student learning
ā Assist students during non-instructional times (transitions, lunchtime, outdoor play)
ā Document and assess the progress of young learners
ā Build strong relationships with parents
ā Support the after-school care program
ā Participate in a comprehensive co-curricular program as required
ā Collaborate with a team of committed professionals who embody the school values of courage, creativity, and citizenship
Qualifications:
ā Early Childhood Educator Diploma or degree
ā Proven experience as an early childhood educator
ā Strong understanding of the role of play in fostering young learners' growth
ā Experience utilizing outdoor settings as effective learning environments
ā Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others
ā Creative, flexible, and patient mindset
ā Excellent communication skills
ā Strong commitment to the care and safety of young children
ā Dedication to integrating school routines and learning within a childcare context
ā Highly organized with a keen attention to detail
