About This Role

St. Andrews International Primary School is seeking applications from dedicated, highly qualified, and experienced leaders to become the Head of Wellbeing & Learning Support, starting in August 2026.

The Role

As the Head of Wellbeing & Learning Support, you will play a crucial leadership role in overseeing the school’s inclusive education initiatives. Reporting directly to the Deputy Headteacher, the successful applicant will manage a committed team of Learning Support and EAL/ESL teachers and assistants to ensure the academic, social, and emotional success of all students.

Key Responsibilities include:


Strategic Leadership: Directing the Wellbeing & Learning Support department and implementing inclusive practices throughout the school.


SEND & Inclusion: Coordinating the identification, assessment, and assistance for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including the creation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).


Language Proficiency: Supervising EAL/ESL programs to facilitate language development and curriculum engagement.


Wellbeing & Pastoral Care: Fostering a positive school atmosphere and delivering targeted support for students facing social or emotional challenges.


High Achievement: Assisting in the identification and enrichment processes for gifted and high-achieving students.


Assessment & Data: Employing tools like CAT4, NGRT, and SNAP to track progress and guide tailored support.

Professional Requirements and Attributes


A valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) with specialized qualifications in SEND.


A solid history of leadership in a British International School or UK educational context.


Proficiency in EAL/ESL support (TEFL/TESOL preferred).


Outstanding interpersonal skills and a dedication to open communication with parents and external specialists.


Experience in managing transformational change and motivating staff to excel in inclusive education.
