ROLE SUMMARY:
St. Louis School Archinto is on the lookout for a dedicated and skilled English Teacher & SENDCo to join our team starting in August 2026. This hybrid position encompasses teaching the IB Diploma Programme and IGCSE English while also overseeing SEND responsibilities, guiding the support for students with additional learning needs throughout the High School.
The ideal candidate will provide outstanding English instruction while promoting inclusive practices, assisting students with varied learning profiles, and collaborating closely with staff and families to ensure that all students can engage with the curriculum and reach their fullest potential.
•
Instruct English within the IB Diploma Programme (Language & Literature and/or Literature) and IGCSE English Language and Literature.
•
Design and implement stimulating, analytical, and skills-oriented lessons in accordance with IB principles.
•
Prepare students for Internal Assessments and IB examinations.
•
Lead SEND provisions across the High School (0.75 allocation).
•
Identify students needing additional assistance and supervise suitable interventions.
•
Create and track Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and access arrangements.
•
Assist teachers with differentiation techniques and inclusive classroom strategies.
•
Communicate with parents, external specialists, and examination boards as necessary.
•
Ensure adherence to IB and examination board regulations regarding access arrangements.
•
Foster a culture of inclusivity, wellbeing, and student support.
•
Contribute to the broader school community and adhere to safeguarding protocols.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
•
A degree in English.
•
A recognized teaching qualification.
•
Experience teaching English at the upper secondary level.
•
Experience supporting students with additional learning needs.
•
A strong grasp of inclusive education and differentiation techniques.
•
Exceptional organizational and communication abilities.
•
Capability to effectively balance teaching and leadership duties.
•
Legal authorization to live and work in Italy (EU passport or valid work permit).
•
Experience teaching English within the IB Diploma Programme and IGCSE.
•
Prior experience as a SENDCo or in a learning support leadership position.
•
Knowledge of IB and IGCSE access and inclusion policies.
•
Experience in an international school environment.
•
Italian language skills (beneficial but not mandatory).
